3:14p Headaches are like resolutions
you forget about them as soon as they stop hurting.
So lonely...
Time for work soon. I can't wait to have my mom tomorrow. I'm sick of taking care of myself and my boyfriend (well I guess if that's what you call him), I want to be taken care of anf babied.
I guess this is what it's like to be an adult. Constantly faking relationships and being utterly alone in the end striving for some hopeless dream.
Yargh I know, this sounds gross. I totally wish I lived in the 60's.
Where are my girlfriends when I need them???

5:07a Goodbye August, AND A BIG FUCK YOU TOO!
Thank god August is over. It had to have been the fucking worst month of my life. Moving is finally done, we did our walkthrough and should get back most of our deposit. Now on to unpacking and setting up the new place, which will be a walk in the park compared to moving. I love my new place. Love love love. It is perfect. Instead of a 20 minute drive to work, I'm down to 10-15 depending on green lights.
I got my infected wisdom tooth pulled yesterday and it was the scariest shit EVER! I got a bunch of fun drugs though, so that's always good. My face still hurts though.
I might be getting another job with my old manager which is super exciting.
I also have cable and real internet!
My momma is gonna be here in 1 day and I'm very excited because everyone hasn't been very nice to me lately.

I quit Community Council and Collins Columns.
I decided I wanted to keep my sanity and possibly enjoy my youth while I still have it.

All the walls are closing in.
Autumn gave birth to five incredibly adorable kittens. Want one? It'll be aminute, but at lesat two more are up for grabs (unless you don't have a job or a home. Or if your home has a flea infestation. Free to GOOD HOME.)
I am sore.
Played a gig with Inhumanoids Monday. It went well. Now, if only I could play shows with my band.

Hey there's one good thing about having a bad allergic reaction for so long (week + 1/2)and can't eat anyhing is that I lose another 7 lbs ish. So total lost = 17lbs. Unless my scale doesn't work properly (its new). 20lbs to go until I weigh what I should. Unfortunately now I have to lose weight by actually trying, lol. And that's hard. On the bright side I actually have my own kitchen now so I don't have to share any space! Wheee!

1:39a Pinto Gigante #24 - David's gots some 'Splainin' To Do.
Well, this time around it's David's turn to go missing, so good ol' Jeremy slips in to second chair duties for the show. Jeremy apparently doesn't like the show well enough to actually listen to it and really, who can blame him? This time out we have more Metallica news (it's not good news folks), a badly thought out song comparison bit, Jacob and Jeremy's super gay song picks, and more of the blah, blah, blah sounds that our mouths make. Oh yeah, not to mention the fact that David may never talk to me again after he hears the show. Oh god what have I done... Tracks by: Pantera, Metallica, Dethklok, Soilent Green, All Shall Perish, Flock of Seagulls, MGMT, Dead or Alive, Job For a Cowboy, Brujeria

1:10a weekend
We had a really good weekend down in Sacramento, though I really missed Bonnie and Loki.
( Here are some pics... )
So anyway, I'm back home sweet home, Bonnie made a pot of extremely good soup, and I got a craving for something sweet so I made some waffle-cookies, and now it's 2am and I need to get to bed soon!

Things have been crazy lately. I'm not complaining for they've mostly been good, but hectic nonetheless.
Nikki moved in, which is awesome!
Leah and Joe have been over lately, which has been super fun.
I've got a job that starts tomorrow morning. :)
And I'm happy.

apparently, i've suffered from a concussion. my helmet saved my life.
i feel like i'm developing a black eye from the impact.

Other news:
Columns were finished EARLY. The next issue is "The 'Now Your Parents Are Gone So We Can Be Lewd' Issue"...we're pretty excited about it.
My Q-syllabus kicks a ton of ass and my class is going to be great for everyone involved.
The addition of that library job means that I have FOUR paying jobs right now if I include the possibility of subbing for Leigh in the Duty Office ever.
Also, I'm going to be DJing the Collins dances/major events from now on for BOP. I'm pretty excited about that!
Community Council's kind of kicking my ass a little right now because there's a lot that I hadn't thought about regarding the workload, but I'll make it.
I've been working on getting a symbiotic relationship between Boxcar and Collins going and I'm being pretty successful in that. We're all pretty stoked about it.
This girl named Amanda that used to share the Saturday shift with me sent me this over a Facebook chat message this evening: Amanda amber! you're awesome you're one of the coolest people ever
It was out of nowhere and I feel really happy about it even though I don't know what prompted it.
Also, Sarah, the new assistant director, sent Ray and I an email saying she read back issues of Columns today in the Duty Office and that we're hilarious. We're extremely honored.
Good times!

I just had to copy this over from the Mighty Wombat newsfeed, originally from FARK:
"The AFA has set up an online form to send Hallmark hate mail for making same sex marriage greeting cards, what a shame it would be if people used it to send Hallmark support mail instead..."
Here's the message I sent:
Dear Chairman Hall:
I fully support your decision to make cards honoring same-sex unions. Kudos to you for not bowing to the pressure of right-wing theocrat groups like the AFA, and for finally taking steps to break down some of the heterosexist stereotypes that are so prevalent in this culture. Thank you for being courageous! for diversity, sincerely, David Boone
Then I sent it, and an AFA page came up thanking me for helping them in their mission. How funny!

9:04p quick update
I'm at work, so not too much time to write.
Had my first class Monday night, the English class. It was awesome. It's gonna be lots of writing, reading, and editing, which I'm stoked about. My other class, the sociology/marriage and family one, is tomorrow night.
Seeing Ian this past weekend was so cool, I miss him so much!! He is a few inches taller, his red hair is back to shoulder length again, and as always he has this unfathomable energy level. If I had a fraction of his energy I would be invincible, I think. Aisy and I are leaving on the Greyhound Friday morning to go down to Sac where Ian and Amber are living, so the kids can go with Amber to SacAnime. I need to take Aislinn to Hot Topic (ugh!) tomorrow afternoon so she can get green fishnets and some spiky stuff, she's cosplaying one of the "powerpunk girls" (the green one, counterpart to Buttercup, I think).
Loki is crawling!!! He's also a lot more vocal and gets frustrated more easily. He loves to pull up and walk while holding on to your fingers, and he wants to walk so badly. Also he's eating hella solid food now, pretty much anything that can be mashed up is fair game.
The other night I stopped by the Rite-Aid dumpster to check for anything useful they might've thrown out, and there was a big black bag amidst the normal trash bags, obviously someone else had thrown it in there. There was a foul smell emanating from the whole area, much worse than the normally sour dumpster-funk, and when I carefully broke open the bag the smell almost knocked me down. The bag was full of bones, presumably from a large mammal since some of them looked to be femur size or larger, they were dark brownish-grey and slimy and covered in maggots, and the connective tissue was still hanging from them. It was seriously the most foul, fetid, nasty thing I have ever smelled. I came home and called in a report to the cops, since it seemed like it might be some kind of health code issue or something. Ugh, so gross. But I wasn't even close to vomiting, it was more of a "wow this is fascinating, but holy shit it stinks" kind of experience. I take that as a good sign that I'll be able to handle the more graphic parts of nursing school, ie. the cadavers and dissection and whatnot.
I threw my back out last Tuesday, it's still sore but I'm fine. I'm trying to be more conscientious of it, since apparently that's my achilles' heel.
Gotta run!

3:08p Note to self: college book stores are great, and TED Talk
I don't know why it never struck me before, but college book stores are awesome. Not for any other reason except that they are chosen by professors. Class books are chosen by people who love their field of work and who want other people to be interested in it. When I was buying a couple of my books, I started browsing other sections. There were classes that had chosen excellent books that I had read before, and there were some that had chosen obscure works by authors I love, and some had books that just the title or cover made it look interesting.
It is for that fact that I will forever be returning to college book stores to look for interesting books, or simply cheap used copies of books I want. I just need to find a way to tap into some kind of master list for the different colleges, so it'll be easier for me to peruse the books without having to travel all over the place.
Today I picked up my books for my theatre class. It's two plays and a "textbook." I put that in quotations, because I don't know that you can call a book that's 80 pages long and could be read in a couple of hours a textbook. It's just the technical manual for dissecting plays. My realization about college book stores came when I stumbled upon a Folger Shakespeare Library (my favorite Shakespeare publisher) copy for only $2 of a play called Measure For Measure. It's referred to as one of his "problem plays," part of which explores certain social issues at the time. I've never seen the play any other time I've looked at Shakespeare sections of bookstores, so that was kind of eye-opening for me.
I found this video on YouTube a little while ago and never got around to posting it here. I've watched it a couple of times and always really enjoy what he has to say. His name is Ken Robinson:

11:38p The Archive: the world's largest record collection
This is a short documentary I found today about the biggest record collection in the world. If it's not enough that the story is very interesting, it is also extremely well-made. I'm looking forward to seeing more from whoever this Sean Dunne is.
